X10 Technologies took great pride in showcasing its cybersecurity expertise during the BSides Calgary 2023 event, a significant gathering in the cybersecurity field. BSides Calgary, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to promoting cybersecurity awareness and fostering connections among cybersecurity professionals in Calgary and across Alberta. This event serves as a prestigious platform, drawing a diverse audience that includes information security professionals, hackers, developers, students, and members of the broader tech community.
Held at Bow Valley College on November 16-17, the 2023 edition of BSides Calgary featured a hybrid format, offering both in-person and online experiences. Our team of cybersecurity experts was readily available to address inquiries, conduct demonstrations, and share valuable insights with attendees.
X10 Technologies, in collaboration with IBM, met with a wide spectrum of businesses, including enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Together, we engaged in insightful discussions about their current IT and cybersecurity challenges, their readiness for the dynamic year ahead in 2024, and how both IBM and X10 Technologies can tailor solutions to address these challenges and support their businesses effectively.
Close to 100 people attended each of the two captivating presentations. Hank Fordham, X10’s cybersecurity analyst, ethical hacker, mentor, and technology innovator, delivered an engaging presentation that left the audience excited and eager to learn more about the deep dark web. Then Sheik Sahib, IBM’s Cybersecurity Architect, shared invaluable insights during his presentation, sparking a flurry of questions about IBM cyber solutions from an enthusiastic audience.
Our booth became a focal point of interest, particularly for the Bow Valley College students who attended the event. They sought us out for career advice and mentoring, demonstrating their eagerness to learn from industry experts. Sharing our knowledge about IT and the cybersecurity world ignited their enthusiasm, with many expressing a strong interest in joining both X10 and IBM companies for internships and future career opportunities.
